16 DAYS ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN

ABAK Peace Foundation actively participated in the global civil society-led 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence Campaign, spanning from November 26th to December 10, 2023. The Foundation recognized the significance of this campaign in raising awareness and advocating for the eradication of gender-based violence worldwide. As a peace foundation committed to fostering harmonious coexistence and advancing human rights, the ABAK Peace Foundation took proactive steps to commemorate this important event. One such initiative involved visiting secondary schools to educate students on human rights principles and empower them with knowledge on how to combat gender-based violence in their communities.

By engaging in these educational activities, the ABAK Peace Foundation aimed to instil a culture of respect, equality, and non-violence among the younger generation. The Foundation believes that equipping young people with the necessary understanding and tools to address gender-based violence, can contribute to the creation of safer and more inclusive societies.

The importance of marking this day as a peace foundation lies in its potential to spark meaningful conversations, challenge harmful attitudes and behaviours, and ultimately drive positive change. Through education and awareness-raising efforts, the ABAK Peace Foundation seeks to promote a future where every individual, regardless of gender, can live free from violence and discrimination.
